Oscar Lovell Triggs was born in 1865. He was an instructor in English at the University of Chicago from 1895 to 1903. Triggs was the author of several books including Browning and Whitman, A Study in Democracy (1893), and Chapters in the History of the Arts and Crafts Movement (1902).
